Refrigerator Dill Pickles
3:46 PMCan I just say that I love pickles? And better yet, fresh pickles made from cucumbers from our garden?
I have been meaning to make pickles for a couple years now, but unfortunately our plants died, or things were munched on by our garden critters.
The best part about this recipe is the fact that you prepare it, and wait a four days before you eat them. The hardest part is waiting to eat them!
Here is the recipe:
Refrigerator Dill Pickles
3 1/2 cups water
1 1/4 cups vinegar
1 teaspoon sea salt
4 cups cucumber spears or slices
2 cloves whole garlic
2 heads fresh dill
1 tablespoon pickling spice
4 bay leaves
Stir together water, vinegar, and sea salt together in a saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and cool completely.
Combine cucumber spears or slices, garlic cloves, dill, and pickling spice in a large glass container. Pour cooled liquid over mixture and seal container with a lid and refrigerate for at least four days. Enjoy!
